Ravi Kailas, the founder of the Mytrah Group, has 25 years of entrepreneurial experience in sectors including telecom, software, real estate and infrastructure.
He was the founder of a number of start-up companies, including Zip Global Network, a telecom services company; Xius Technologies, a telecom software company, which launched the world's first inter-operator prepaid roaming service, and Altius, a real estate financial options company.
Ravi has a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Osmania University and a master's degree from Stanford University, (USA).
Rohit Phansalkar is the Chairman and CEO of RKP Capital, Inc., a US-based merchant banking boutique firm. He was previously the Chairman and CEO of Osicom Technologies, an optical networking company. He was the Co-founder, Vice Chairman and CEO of Newbridge Capital, a private equity firm investing in India, and formerly the Head of Energy Finance Group at Oppenheimer & Co. He was the co-head of the Energy Finance Group at Shearson American Express, Managing Director of Bear Stearns and Managing Director at Oppenheimer & Co. He was also the Founding Chairman of The India Fund.
He has a bachelor's degree in Science from Michigan Technological University and a master's degree from the Graduate School of Business, Harvard University, USA.
Rohit Phansalkar is a member of the Audit and Nomination committees and is the chair of the Remuneration committee.
Russell Walls, Senior Independent Non-Executive Director & Audit Committee Chairman. Independent Director & Audit Committee Chairman, Mytrah Energy (India) Private Limited.
Mr Walls has a financial background, with extensive experience as a finance director, having been Group Finance Director of BAA plc (transport), Wellcome plc (pharmaceuticals), and Coats Viyella plc (textiles).
He is currently a non-executive director of Biocon Limited and Syngene International Limited (healthcare), Signet Jewellers Limited (retail), and Chairman of Aviva Insurance Limited and Aviva Life Holdings Limited, the two principal UK subsidiaries of Aviva Plc.. He was previously independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Aviva Plc. In addition, he was senior independent non-executive Director and Chairman of the audit Committee of Stagecoach Group plc (transport) and Hilton Group plc (leisure).
Vikram Kailas serves as the Co-founder, Managing Director and CEO of Mytrah Energy (India) Pvt. Ltd. His strong entrepreneurial streak, overarching strategies, and relentless determination helps the company to ace in the field of wind & solar energy. He has worked in the Energy & Utilities investment banking group at Credit Suisse in New York, where he was involved in a number of renewable energy transactions, including a US$ 6 bn exit financing for Calpine and a US$ 300 mn loan for First Energy.
Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Vikram Kailas worked for Deloitte Consulting in India. Vikram Kailas has a Bachelor in Engineering degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai and Master of Business Administration degree from Yale School of Management
Shirish has 35+ years of experience in the Infrastructure Sector. His forte lies primarily in conceptualizing, developing, structuring/financing private and public equity, mergers and acquisitions as well as implementation and operations of large infrastructure projects. He has held several senior level positions. He was the CEO of the Power Business of Cairn India Limited. Prior to that served as the CFO in the Delhi International Airport. He was formerly the Head of Project Finance at GMR Infrastructure- one of India's largest infrastructure companies, where he handled projects - financing of roads, power & airports in the initial growth phase of the Group. He has also successfully concluded private equity investments and supported the Group's IPO.
In addition, Shirish Navlekar has worked with leading multinational corporations including General Electric, Mirant Asia Pacific Ltd. and Coastal Power Company on various power projects. He has extensive experience working with all stages in the development of utility scale power projects; from bidding, acquisitions to operations and asset management.
Shirish Navlekar has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Marketing Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute, Mumbai University.
Bob Smith has 25 years experience in the energy sector, including the last 8 in renewables. He was previously Chief Development Officer at BP Solar, building on 15 years in international oil & gas operations with BP.
Mr. Smith joined Mytrah in 2013 after 4 years as CEO of a renewable energy technology start-up. He is a Chartered Engineer and has Masters Degrees in Engineering from Cambridge University and Management from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University.
Ajith has over 19 years of experience in the field of Human Resources, spanning Manufacturing, IT and ITES sectors. His expertise is in the areas of leading core HR functions, TQM and Change Management. Prior to this, he worked as Senior Director - Human Resources at Virtusa Ltd. He was formerly the Vice President and Head - Human Resources at Sify Ltd. Ajith started his career with Carborundum Universal Ltd. (part of Murugappa Group).
He has also written and published a book titled 'Corporates and Social Responsibility' which won the 2016 India CSR Author Award.
He has an M.Phil and a Master's in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations, along with a Diploma in Training and Development.
Gagan brings over 21 years of diverse financial, transactional, managerial, strategic and business development experience spanning various industries, geographies and financial products. He has held a variety of senior roles covering investment banking, corporate finance, venture investing, corporate strategy, business management and engineering.
Prior to joining Mytrah, Gagan was the Group Head of Strategy and M&A, and an integral member of the Group Leadership Team at InterGlobe Enterprises, the parent company of IndiGo airlines.
Gagan started his finance career with Credit Suisse in New York. As an investment banker in the Energy Group, he worked on equity, debt and M&A deals for global clients in the oil and gas, renewables, power, chemicals and mining sectors across various geographies. He continued to advise clients after transferring to the London office and then to Mumbai office of Credit Suisse.
Gagan is an avid speaker and regularly conducts sessions at various universities and business schools.
He has an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA, a Master’s in Textile Science from the University of Georgia (Athens), USA, and a Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi.
Girish Gelli has an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management, Philippines and has two decades of business and entrepreneurial experience across a number of industries spanning Insurance, Banking, Business Process Outsourcing, IT Services, Private Equity Investments and Solar Power. He was an Executive Council Member for three years on the State Council of the CII - The Confederation of Indian Industry (AP). Mr Gelli was the founder of a BPO services firm that catered to the financial services industry and subsequently a solar firm that owns and operates solar power projects in India, one of the projects set up by that firm had received an award from the Ministry (MNRE) for achieving the best performance in the country amongst all the projects under the policy. He initiated the Solar Business division at Mytrah in the year 2015 and now oversees the solar business, more particularly the solar strategy, engineering, procurement and execution of solar projects.
Harish Kant Kaushik is the Vice President of Project Finance (Solar Business) at Mytrah Energy (India) Pvt. Ltd. He has over 35 years of experience in the banking and non–banking financial sectors, especially in the areas of Infrastructure, Projects and Corporate Finance. Prior to Mytrah, he was Head – Infrastructure Finance at Reliance Capital Ltd. Before joining Reliance, Harish worked for 30 years with State Bank of India in their Infrastructure Finance / Project Finance, Corporate Finance and Forex divisions.
Harish has been instrumental in introducing Best practices in SBI and Reliance for funding of Infrastructure sectors. He worked on marquee transactions across several sectors like Power (Renewal & Conventional), Transportation, Metro Railways, Urban Infrastructure, SEZs and Healthcare. Harish has deep understanding of areas like infrastructure funding and project finance, origination and structuring of debt, credit advisory and risk management, restructuring and workout management, and international banking.
Harish is a regular guest speaker at various leading academic and research institutions. Harish has represented State Bank of India at Indian Bankers Association (IBA)-appointed Sub Committee for setting Valuation Standards for Real Estate projects. He was also nominated as member of CII-Western Region (Healthcare) Sub-Committee in 2010. Currently, he is a member of National Task Force on Solar Energy (SETF) at FICCI.
Kishore has over 36 years of experience in the field of Law, spanning Renewables, Energy, Infrastructure, Manufacturing & Trading sectors. His expertise is in the areas of contracting, intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, corporate legal advisory, and litigation management. Prior to working in Mytrah he was the General Counsel – India at Gamesa Wind Turbines. He also worked as Head Legal at KSK Energy Ventures, General Manager (Legal) at Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, AGM (Legal) at Coromandel Fertilisers Limited – part of the Murugappa Group, and in ITC Bhadrachalam Paperboards Limited – a key division at ITC Limited.
Kishore is a Post Graduate in Commerce from the Osmania University and has an MBA in Finance from JNTU, Hyderabad, besides a Post Graduate Diploma in IPR from the Osmania University. He was also awarded a Doctorate in Law by the Osmania University for his thesis titled “Structuring Mergers and Acquisitions - Legal and Taxation aspects”.
He has keen interest in Indian Classical Music, and is trained in Violin.
Melroy is working as a Vice President for Projects & Contracts.
Heading the entire Projects department of the company, (as part of the Management Team) he manages and organizes wind power projects for various states. His areas of expertise includes Site Identification & Acquisition, Sourcing, Execution, Regulatory Matters, and Business Development Support. He is also responsible for sourcing the WTGs right from negotiation with OEMs till contract agreement signing. He heads the procurement department for self-development model wind projects.
Melroy recently executed 500 MW of Wind project in Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Telangana under the Model of Self Development. He took responsibility for the construction of 550 MW power project that had to be completed by March/June 2017 in different states & sites.
Melroy has 23 years of experience in Project and Construction management with extensive knowledge of Finance and Business Development. He possesses keen understanding of the technology sector too. Prior to joining Mytrah, he had held various senior level positions in ReNew Power, GFL (INOX Wind), ReGen Powertech, Vestas and Enercon.
Sharat is a Senior Social Development sector professional with over three and a half decades of work experience across various levels and wide array of issues.
He is currently spearheading CSR initiatives of Mytrah Energy (India) Limited, the fastest growing renewable energy enterprise. He studied Master’s in Social Work from Andhra University, General Management Program from the Institute of Rural Management, and an advanced course in Social Development from the University of London.
His unique strength is his strong hands-on experience at micro level coupled with an equal experience at policy and strategy level engagement. His experience in a wide range of development sectors including, Education, health, livelihoods, agriculture, disaster management, rural and urban development, governance reforms and structural adjustment etc., with a strong focus on cross-cutting issues like gender, participation and social inclusion further adds to his strength.
Prior to Mytrah Energy, he served as the State Representative, Department for International Development (DFID), Government of UK; Social Development Officer for the British Council; Executive Director, International HIV/AIDS Alliance, and Director, CSR for Lanco Group. He served on several judging panels, including the Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC) finals at the University of California, member of the Governing Body, CEFNARM of the Forestry Department, GoAP and currently serving as the member of Board of Studies, Andhra University. He received citation as one of the 100 most impactful CSR leaders (Global listing) in 2016 from the World CSR Congress.
Somasundaram is the Head of Strategic Initiatives at Mytrah Energy where he has firm wide oversight for several areas including Corporate Communications, Learning & Development, Campus Relations, and the Mytrah grants program. Somasundaram has functional experience in business development, finance and strategy across the financial services, insurance, automotive and consumer goods sectors. He has worked with organizations like Credit Suisse, General Motors, Luxottica and HSBC, primarily out of India and USA, on assignments for businesses / clients in Asia, North and South America, and Europe.
Somasundaram has an MBA from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, a PGDM from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and a BE degree from Jadavpur University.
Murali has been a part of the wind industry for close to 20 years and heads the business development activities that are pursued with a medium and long term perspective with a systematic approach towards the project development starting with resource assessment.
He has successfully executed large scale projects and has been a key player in building the business presence in his previous companies. He has expertise on current regulatory issues and through understanding of the current domain trends and contemporary practices.
Prior to joining Mytrah, he has held senior level positions in NSL renewable power, Enercon and Skeiron projects.
He is the Secretary for the AP and the Telangana chapters of IWPA and has front ended many issues related to wind industry with various government departments. He is a member of the Andhra Pradesh electricity regulatory commission’s SAC (State Advisory Committee) advising them on the issues related to Renewables.
Susan Wallace is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and the author of the ICSA Company Secretary's Troubleshooter (3rd edition - June 2012). Susan has over 20 years experience in the company secretarial and corporate governance fields.
Susan is one of the founders of Bruce Wallace Associates. Before setting up Bruce Wallace with Martha Bruce, Susan was an executive director of David Venus & Company where she managed a large client portfolio, ranging from small privately-owned entities to AIM listed companies, providing fully outsourced technical company secretarial support and corporate governance advice.
Susan gained her initial experience within legal and accountancy practices including Eversheds and KPMG.
Vivek Kailas has extensive experience in corporate banking and has done key transactions across sectors - infrastructure / pharmaceutical / diamonds / agriculture / edible oil. Prior to joining Mytrah, he has worked with ING Vysya Bank, where he covered Indian and international markets. He was in ING's selective leadership and fast track programs.
He has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications from Osmania University and has an MBA from IIIT.
